There`s no doubt: Somewhat large is growing here, which still hides itself behind a quite bad sound (call it Darkthrone-roughness, if you want so). But the music totally convinces me: Epical Black Metal, aggressive and nordic, some acoustical guitars assigned to produce a melancholy dye. This does not mean there`s no aggression in the music, on the contrary: The acoustic guitar grants a little peace to the listener, before shouter A.F. begins to cry his black soul out of his throat. Result: Everyone, who loves epical and aggressive Black Metal, should definitely keep an eye on Hagal... (Marcel Tilger)
